Picked up this 1999 Grizzly G1023 right tilt a couple weeks ago from our very own upstatenydude. Excellent shape as far as the cabinet and workings are concerned. A little buildup of pitch inside the cabinet, but i removed a lot of it as best i could.
When i brought it home, i completely disassembled it to check for noises or anything else odd or wrong. Noticed an unusual noise coming from the fan side of the motor and let out a big sigh. Thought it was something serious. I thought about it and was almost about to take it to a specialist, and finally, said screw it and did it myself. Piece of cake! Changed the bearings in the motor, bearings in the arbor, new belts, and it runs like a champ! Whisper quiet and passes the nickel test. Havn’t cut with it yet, waiting on a new Freud 24T blade to come tomorrow.
Brand new shop fox classic fence on it as well. Also picked up a JET mobile base for it, and so far, it works very well.
Can’t wait to start making some jigs for it. Next on the list once i get x-mas gifts out of the way is an outfeed table.
