Picked this up a month or so ago, but thought it would still be eligible for a tool gloat post…

Stopped by Sears, and happened to notice this in the tool section on clearance for ~$200. (they stopped selling these years ago, but they had this one left in stock). I thought that was an amazing deal, so I had them ring it up right away.

Of course, when he scanned it at the register, it came up $99.

Needless to say, I was extremely excited.

I was using a router and router sled for all my jointing/planing needs. It was messy, inconvenient, and extremely time consuming.

The jointer is so much faster and easier.

It still ended up costing me a lot of money though…

I went out and bought the Dewalt DW735 planer a week later.

Hah, funny how those cheap purchases have a way of doing that. I bought a lathe for next to nothing…a few hundred dollars later, im finally using it =)

Yeah, these go for 250-350 on CL around here.

But this was brand new, which made it even better.
