Like all others, I am making cutting boards as holiday gifts. There was a recent thread about breadboard ends on a table. I know the proper way to do breadboards on a table is to pin them, but I just made a cutting board about 9 inches wide (single board of maple) and 3/4 inches thick in which I glued the breadboard (walnut) the entire length. The breadboard was a tongue in groove design with the tongue being about 1/2 inch and the total width of the breadboard only being 1/2 past the end of the board. Should I be worried about splitting on a piece this small?
