I know Baileigh name form when I was into metal working. I saw they had table saws and ck’d out their site. They are having a sale that put their pricing competitive with others I was looking at.

I gave them a call as their web site is low on basic info and I feel when people shoot off emails it usually means they aren’t serious. I introduced myself and asked if I could ask a couple questions about their saws. The phone went dead?? I asked if he was there and he answered with, “Yeah go ahead”. I asked if the saw had cabinet or table mounted motor. He seemed stumped and then kind of rudely said that the picture clearly shows that the motor is mounted inside the cabinet and not outside?

I am not a table saw expert by any means and asked again apologizing but rephrasing my question asking not where motor is placed but how it was mounted. He then mentioned the pictures on the site. I again said sorry but in the pics I am looking it doesn’t show the motor mounting.

He told me to hold on and finally came back and simply said ” Mounted in the cabinet” I took that to mean cabinet mounted and then asked about shipping which again he really seamed bothered to answer. He told me shipping to CA would be approx $550. This is the entry level hybrid cabinet type saw that Laguna sells also. I questioned the cost as they have a place in LA and he said it was just a showroom and that is what it cost.

I was shocked at how little care or knowledge he had. The shipping I guess could be accurate but was almost 4x that of Laguna and Grizzly. I honestly feel for Co’s today as this new group of 20 something workers really can care less about anything.

Laguna and Grizzly answered everything and were actually hard to get off the phone with all the info. Just passing along one experience.

They have had a couple of their employees on this site in the past. Trying to drum up buzz, seemed friendly. You may be able to do a quick search, I believe Baileigh was used in the LJ name, shoot him a PM and link to your experience.

I have their JP-1250 Jointer/planer and it’s a great machine. I also have had less then stellar luck calling them with questions. As far as I am concerned there is only one person to talk to at Baileigh for woodworking equipment and that is

Shane is great to work with and knows his stuff. Don’t let this experience turn you away from Baileign. Talk to Shane first and then decide.

Woodie1…..I am sorry for your experience when you called in. We have a couple new guys here in sales, they might not be as up to speed as the rest of the groupl. If you would like to talk about saws, call me direct and you will get the red carpet treatment.
