So I am trying to set up my new Delta and wanted to know about the space for cleaning in the top.
The Delta 1800-900L is the one I’m talking about. I’m almost ready to get started. Has anyone set one up? I’m thinking if I give myself a couple of feet below my shelves I should be fine.

“the space for cleaning in the top”? Not sure what you mean?

You need a bit of room for the lid to flip up so you can change belts. Maybe only 6” would do but would be tight, 1’ would be plenty.

You also need a bit of room for the headstock to go over the post. But that’s a onetime thing and I wouldn’t try to do it in any sort of restricted space but would walk the press back to where I wanted it afterwards.

One note is that the headstock on this thing is HEAVY. Get some help and preferably a hoist of some sort. or alternatively assemble it laying down and then get some help to stand it up.
