Hey gang;
Couple questions on making a marking knife. I have been looking at some posted here and like the two brass rods through the blade and body.

Questions are related to that aspect:
1: where do you get the rods?
2: how do you trim them up flush or slightly counter sunk?

I did a search and see tons of great info on design, glue ups and blades. Just hadn’t seen this covered.

I think that many people use brass rivets, available from Amazon

I’ve made a lot of this type of handles. For the brass rod, I use 3/16” brazing rod, available at any welding store. Drill the handles/blank and epoxy everything together. Last, belt sand the brass pins flush with the handle sides and finish shaping the handles. Simple process and it works well.
