I don’t know if there is a way to query the database by location but you can go to the jocks tab and look at where they are from, if they have their location listed. I’m in Southwest Oregon so I’m a little too far, good luck.

Welcome to LJ. There’s a club that meets at the Rockler in Strongsville, 30 miles to your north. That’s just 10 miles farther than the drive to Akron. But they haven’t updated their website in ages so maybe they all followed him to Florida when Lebron James skipped town. But just in case they still exist, here’s a link to their contact page.

They used to call themselves the NortheastOhio Woodworkers Guild:

I thought a long time ago you could pull up a map and zoom in to see others in your area. I could be wrong and it might have been another webpage. But, this would be an awesome feature. I was just thinking about this the other day.

What do you think moderators?

Two things I see you are in southern Az. until I retired and made the foolish mistake of moving back home I lived in Chandler Az. had worked for the state for 20 years. Now to the Rockler store in Strongsville, I think they closed that store like they have done with so many their company owned stores. Cleveland Tool I think carries the Rockler line now. I had been in that store before a few years ago and when I went to go back they had flown the coop. Thanks for your reply it’s nice to know this subject didn’t go unnoticed It’s 15 outside and 4 Am think I will go back to bed and get warm. thanks guys

the map was a great tool “back in the day” but when the membership took off, the map couldn’t handle it.

“Groups” has been on our to-do list but now that Martin has moved on to other things everything is on hold.

As for finding other members in your area, I’d suggest editing the title to include the location. People scanning the lists will stop by if they see something familiar.

I might be a bit far south for you. Back in the 70s, lived in Akron/Stow area. Got tired of the snow belt, and moved back home to the Logan County area.

If the site was enhanced with a way for you to locate other LJ members near you, I, for one, would use it.
