Need a little help with the raised panels on my bar.
As shown there is a 5 1/2” baseboard, all railes and stiles are 3”
Im looking for input regarding options shown by the color arrows in my drawing.

Red = front part of the I shape – one or 2 piece panel?
Blue = 1 or 2 panels on the sides?
Pink = 3 or 4 piece panel for the big front sections? (3 piece would be 9 1/2” wide per piece)

What combination looks best?

You might want to experiment with paper cutouts taped to cardboard. Sometimes shapes that look good from one angle don’t look good from another. When standing near it, the view looking down might be totally different from the front-on view.

Another experiment is to use the “golden rectangle” where one side is 1.6 times the length of the other side.

Another approach is to divide the space into whole number ratios. For example if the stiles are 3”, then the panels might look good being 9” or 12” or 15” wide.

Good luck! Sounds like a great project.

IMO…I think the rail/stile width is too wide @ 3 with the porportions of the panels ”.....IMO, I’d consider a 2” width on the stiles and top rail, and the bottom rail a 2-1/4” width. The pink example posted above would be three panels at 11-1/2” width instead of the 9-1/2”width….

Addes a couple pics above… I forget what width rail and stile I used on the back bar portion.
I believe it is 2 1/2”.
Reason I think 3” will look good is I want to visually GROUND the big base. This is a pretty large bar at almost 12 feet wide and the bar depth (usable surface is 18” wide)

Now that’s going to be a beautiful bar when it’s done…...No offense intended with my opinion of a narrower rail/stile width and more emphasise on the panel….You have done excellent work thus far….looking forward to seeing this finished
