The local Wft told my family member that the Jet JJP-10BTOS, 10” Jointer / Planer was being discontinued. The next alternative is the 12” $2500 model. Has anyone else heard that the 10BTOS is being discontinued? If it is true, I would be interested in any similar recommendations at a similar price point.
Thanks in advance!

If you just want to know if it is going to be discontinued in the future, then you should go to Jet’s website and ask them directly. Anyplace else is just rumors. If you can’t buy it at your local store because they said it was discontinued, then you can go to the Jet page and click on the “buy online” button. It brings up a list of places online that sell it.
One of those places is Tools-Plus and they have it for $518 with free shipping, and it says in stock.

Now then, what is with the “Wft”?? You saved maybe .000003 seconds by not typing out the “oodcra”.
Is that what the cool kids are doing now, just making up their own acronyms and abbreviations for different stores? If so, it seems a little pretentious, like goatees, poetry readings and frappucinos. Let’s keep it real here on the mean streets of LJ City. If you’re going to woodcraft then say woodcraft.

And welcome to LJ the second friendliest place on the internet.

Im laughing way too hard at this post, thanks Joe.

The local toolking still had them on the floor last week when I was there, so I would guess they’re still around.

Have your say...
