Topic tags/keywords: question plane

How do I get it out of the frog without damaging it threads? I have a #7 that needs a replacement knob and screw and have a frog from a broken plane wanting to donate that bit. But have not been able to extract it at this point of time. Any hints would be appreciated!

Been using PB blaster but I can’t figure out how to grab the screw without damaging it?

Drill a hole in hardwood, split the wood and slide over the threads clamp wood pieces with vise grips and hope it holds.
