I’m not a big Maloof fan, but it’s interesting to see
an older piece before the iconic rocker emerged
from his studio. I had his book at one point but
don’t recall many pictures of his older work in it.

I can understand that not all styles can appeal to all people. I also think that Maloof’s personal qualities and approach to his work can be inspiring to all who are trying to make things both beautiful and functional. He felt a connection between the wood he was using, the piece he was building, and the people who would ultimately use the piece. I like that.
