So, we had a series of severe thunder storms roll through here today and when the power went out I went out to my shop to clean up from the latest round of projects. As I was waxing my tablesaw top a branch from the nearest poplar tree decided to fall on my roof. It was more of a spear really, it punched a 6” hole right through the roof right over my tablesaw. The end stopped about a foot from my right eye. Imagine my surprise at seeing this coming at me, funny thing was what popped into my mind. A picture of Norm Abrams saying “you should always wear these, safety glasses” lol.

Good thing you had your “these, Safety Glasses” on ‘cause that would have left a mark. ;-)

Glad your not reporting that incident from the Emergency Room.

Hole covered and patched up. The branch is already ash, we had alot of limbs come down and I had a little bonfire today. My poplar trees have a bunch of dead limbs from the drought and aphids last year, even had a few poplar trees die from it.

I wonder if you would have been safer with a SawStop?
