Hello folks,

I’m working on a wishing well to occupy a small area outside our front door. I’ve finished construction of the base and will be working on the rest in the coming days/weeks.

The wood I’ve chosen is 2×4 studs with some 1×4 pine between the layers. I’m familiar with how both of these woods look with the stain I intend to use (watco dark walnut) and think they’ll work well together.

The reason for my post is I’m not sure how I should go about sealing the wood after the stain to help it withstand the elements. It’s also possible I should be considering a stain/sealing combination product that I’m not aware of.

Thank you for your time!

Consider Target's EM9300 or similar.
