Sand the surface first with 180 grit paper and then use a product call de-glosser or liquid sandpaper. These two step will allow the resin to adhere quit nicely. |

I used mirror coat it is friggin awesome but pricey. I read the label and it specifically says not to use with polyshades. Guess what stain i bought—- Correct… polyshades. I went and got a different stain because if they go out of the way to specifically say no polyshades I believe them. If you are hell bent on using it or you already stained the peice do a test on some left over wood. Wait a week and see how it does. If you are like me you cant wait that long. Its been 6 days so you might have a solution already. Mix that stuff well if you get a lump that dosent get any hardner you have to get the stuff out and put on an entire new layer. Their 800 number has real people answering and they are a lot of help with specifics. |

Thanks for the help Charlie… and you’re right Mirror Coat is freak’n awesome!!! And you’re right again I couldn’t wait that long… and I had already stained the arm rests… But it works… I didn’t use the polyshades but i did use an old prob.. 15yr old can of minwax stain with poly in it… same stuff just older will a less cool name!!! The Bar has topped all my expectaions!!! I’ll get the pictures up soon!! |
