Dear Fellow LJ’s,

Please forgive me for posting something that is not wood related on our site. As some of you know, My country, the Philippines has been ravaged by super typhoon “Yolanda”. Because of lack of accessibility to affected towns and cities, we still have no figures on how many people perished in its aftermath. Estimates are in the tens of thousands.

http://www.buzzfeed.com/rachelzarrell/27-devastating-images-from-typhoon-haiyans-destruction

I am calling on to my fellow wood lovers with kind hearts for help. People need water, medicine, food, clothing etc.
Your prayers for those who lost their loved ones, families, children are also needed. I am attaching a link where you can send your donations. God bless you all!

Kind regards,

Benji Reyes

Thank you Benji. I will certainly make a contribution. You and your countryman will be in my prayers. The devastation there reminds me of a tornado that just wipes out everything in it’s path. It is so tragic.
Take care….....

No need to apologize Benji, this is the “Coffee Lounge Forum”, it doesn’t have to be Wood Related.

Even if it wasn’t what you have to say here is far more important than “Violating” any rules of this Site.

I’m so Very Sorry to learn of Your Countries Terrible Tragedy.

Be assured that as a Fellow Woodworker and Both Members of This Site, I will be Donating via The Link you have posted above.

Please Stay Safe.

Regards: Rick

As someone who lost everything during Hurricane Katrina 8 years ago I can most certainly feel the pain of those devastated by the typhoon. Glad to donate…

Benji, I’m so SORRY that your country is getting clobbered by a HUGE Typhoon…

Looks like a terrible disaster…

I just saw on TV here that Medical supplies, water, etc. are being sent to Hospitals where they experienced losses and really needed it… from places here in California, USA… I hope it does some good…

Y’all are in our prayers…

You must be in a pretty secure area… Hope things stay good for you & Yours.

God Bless you,

I’m there with you Cajun Greg. I was in Bay St. Louis MS.

Benji, thanks for posting this.

I’ll never forget what it was like after Katrina. The months and years after this storm are going to be really hard and I feel great sorrow for what your countrymen are going through Benji. I wish them the best. I hope all of your family is safe, secure and accounted for.

Benji,

I honestly wondered if you’d suffered personally, as you are my only connection to that part of the world. Thanks for the update, and I am glad that you are safe. Kind regards and may God bless you and your people who have gone through such a terrible tragedy.

Benji, I can’t help to watch the continuing coverage on CNN. I wish I could get in my van, fill it with food and supplies and just drive there. This is so heart breaking!
It is just a matter of time until a storm like this hits Hawaii. When you live on an Island, there is no escape from the storm. Unlike tornado alley on the Mainland, we don’t have storm shelters or basements here. You know that your house will be leveled and it is a terrifying thought.
I heard that there is a tropical depression headed your way. That is awful. We just had a solid week of wind and rain, but at least we have shelter.
I hope the aid reaches your people soon. Hang in there…....

People have put their stories on LJ’s, none are this devastating. As I told you I’m glad you are safe.
