Hello, i new to lumberjocks so go easy on me! i am from Ireland and myself my fiance are due to get married in july 2014. we are having a marquee reception and really want to put our own stamp on it. any ideas on how my fiance could put his woodwork skills to good use to decorate the marquee? also any ideas on anything functional we could make for the day, e.g. a bar.

would be grateful for any ideas,tips and advice!

Prinzen, let me start by saying that the expression “marquee wedding” is not common in the US so I might be completely off base. However, one thought I have is that your fiancee might be able to make “chargers”, which are over-sized plates that would/could be put under a regular dinner plate. Your names and wedding date could be engraved into the charger if desired.

Another option might be lathe turned goblets that could have small floral arrangements included, again with your names and date included. HTH
