Here in southern middle Tn there is no Deft lacquer to be had. I have checked into northern Al as well. I heard that PPG bought Deft and is moving to a wb “lacquer” but are they eliminating the brushing lacquer. I was at the local Sherwin-Williams and they are quoting $75 for a gallon of their plain jane nc lacquer. Who knows whats happening in the market.

FWIW, I found my Deft in DO-IT BEST Hardware stores. Just a thought.

Deft was bought out and is being deleted by the new parent company. I would recommend to start looking for a different product.

Monte that is not totally correct-

Deft was bought out by PPG – - Some of the stores don’t sell PPG, but the Deft product is still available at other stores. So it is still being made – but not available at all of the same old stores, depending on their relationship with PPG.
There was another thread on this – I e-mailed Deft Customer Service and I got this response

If your local Ace Hardware doesn’t have it in stock, they can order it for you.

I’m sorry, I was misinformed by the local Lowes store.

Can’t trust sales reps at big box stores. I walked into an Ace Hardware one day to resupply on 30-day release purple masking tape and was told that they had never carried such a product in the past. I know that isn’t true because I purchased a few rolls of it earlier in the year at the same store.
