Hey guys. I have my eye on a Reliant drill press.
Anyone have info or opinions on this manufacturer?

Reliant is equivalent to Harbor Freight’s Central Machinery line. Not the greatest in the world but not bad either. Is it bench or floor standing?

Reliant has been around a long time, but is not a top brand name you hear about everyday…..It is prolly the cheapest brand made (in my opinion), and may not be able to stand up to the riggers of hard use, like a Delta or Powermatic, Grizzly, etc…...If I had options, I’d look around for a better brand, but that’s me…....

I purchased a “bargain brand” Shopfox drill press over ten years ago and the big selling point of this baby was it’s a radial drill press. It has it’s downside but all in all really works great. I’ve always been going to cut up an aluminum beer can and shim the head slide, there’s just a wee bit to much play in there, but it works fien as is, maybe someday when I’ve got nothing to do/ Titlting, geared in and out power head with tilting plate and when you combine that with a nice multi positioning vise it’s very easy to create ones own mill. But be careful and where body armour cause things fly around the shop fast lol
