My wife went to a yardsale last saturday and bought a bunch of items for very little money.
One item she bought for me was a Stanley miter box and back saw.
A bit of rust here and there, I hope to get it cleaned up in the next few weeks.
The saw is an unknown brand, probably a Stanley, I don’t know right now. It has a 23” blade at 11ppi. and is still pretty sharp.

Every once in awhile she brings home stuff like this:

I think maybe she likes me, at least enough to spend $5.00 on.

That’s a nice old tool. I had one but lost it in a fire.

Maybe you should treat her better since she is treating you so well. Little clean up and you will be in business.

Wow! If I treat her any better it’ll go to her head and she’ll start getting thoughts about fancy stuff like an electric washer and dryer.
I think there ain’t nuthin’ wrong with that scrub board and clothes line. It worked fine for my grandma and my great grandma!

(Oh, No, Hon, I wasn’t talking about you!..... but! but! but! ........... yes dear.)

Tim, I looked at that site in my preliminary search to date this thing.
My “Stanley” label is red and from other tools I have that means it’s a bit older than the 60’s but I can’t date it without help.
No stamped plate anywhere that I can find yet. Everything seems to work nicely, it mostly needs cleaning up.

Handle shape tells me 50’s or newer, but I’m not an expert like some of the guys here. Try the Mitre Box or Saws threads. The second one is more active.
