A new user, scrapbmxrider16 is a buddy of mine that just signed up for the site. He’s trying to post a question to the finishing forum but his post has been awaiting moderator approval for a few days now.

A little help? Thanks!

I’m having a similar issue with a project. Any tech support out there?

Loren, it’s not an email problem. He’s trying to post in the forums and can’t do it yet.

If I remember correctly, you have to comment in an existing thread before you can post a new thread topic. (?)

Unfortunately, LJ’s was under attack from the Spammers just a couple of months ago – this approval process is the new front line against spam.

Imagine if you will, MsDebbie sits – a lone figure in the dark – reviewing endless new profiles, hundreds a week. Gatekeeper to our sawdusty corner of cyber space., who would envy her the task of sorting the wheat from the chaff?

If you are reading this MsDebbie, scrapbmxrider16 is a good guy, interested only in expanding his knowledge of woodworking, finishes and techniques, and hopefully giving back, paying it forward. Do not confuse scrapbmxrider16 with a lowly spammer – whose mission is to infiltrate our seemingly harmless community of woodworkers to peddle some cheap counterfeit medicines and love making potions.

Let him in MsDebbie, do the right thing, I implore you.

I rest my case.

Can someone approve my thread???? I am not spam. 3 days now is ridiculous and to be honest it is a good way to turn people away from your site.

Renners thanks for the support

No problem, if you are really stuck, post your query here and I’m sure someone will be along to help out.

You don’t ever wear winklepickers do you? I just need to check that first.

Brian, Maybe you could send MsDebbie a pm and vouch for him? Might spped things up.

I just joined a Forestry/Milling site and was allowed to post a question within 5 minutes of joining. VERY impressive service!

Then again, I signed up for a black smithing forum awhile back, went through the entire process, got the email with the code and secret handshake, and then couldn’t log in. Tried for weeks to figure it out, and finally got an error that said “there will be no new members accepted”. I even emailed the “owner”, and never got an answer. It’s one ate-up site, if the owner acts like that.

I have been waiting about a week to get a post approved. But, judging from the content of the site, I thnk it’s worth it…and…it’s FREE LOL
