I just saw an ad on TV for this product, has anybody tried one? Are they sturdy enough? Where is the best place to buy one?

It’s a knockoff or a rebranding of the Triton superjaws. I didn’t
know the Triton had the accessories.

I own a couple of Triton multistands and they are high quality and
useful tools. I’ve played with the Superjaws. At the time it struck
me as being a product mostly useful for plumbers and metal work.
It’s clearly well-made though.

As a matter of fact my father just surprised me with one. Why he got it for me is a real long story. Any way I digress.

I’ve only used it a couple of times. Very sturdy and heavy. real heavy. but real sturdy. did I mention it was heavy? Not like you’re going to grab it with one hand and sling it into the bed of your pick-up. I don’t like things that move around and tip and what not so I like it the way it is.

I would say it would be most useful when building a house as opposed to the general cabinetmaking or fine woodworking. I like the shaving horse style clamp action ‘cause when your sawing something off, your foot pressure helps keep it in place.

I think it is a neat idea, but I’m not sure that it’s something that I would use real often, but thats just me. I’ve seen them at one of the local hardware stores intown for $175 each, and the stack of boxes seems to be going down to my amazement at that price. Actually I’m thinking it would be best to have 2 of them.
