Topic tags/keywords: cherry

Especially when it’s free! We had a bunch of 8/4 offall, mostly between 1.5” – 2” x 11’ and 12’
I cut them down to mostly 4’ chunks so I could fit them in my car and brought them home today! I’ve been bringing home a few pieces here and there over the last few weeks, but today’s haul could almost be called the motherlode.

Not all of it is shown in these pics.

Here’s a few blocks I cut and sanded down nice and smooth. Finished with coconut oil and beeswax, if you can call that a finish.

In the sunlight…love that flecking :)

Anybody else love cherry as much as me?

I am making a bed from cherry, and have been cursing it a little bit. If it doesn’t burn, twist, cup, and blotch then it’s not cherry.
