Topic tags/keywords: bandsaw blade size

My benchtop takes 60” blades but most I’m finding are 59 1/2” or 59 1/4”. Just wondering how much leeway I have on blade size?

I buy from my blades here, http://www.customblades.com/ ,any size you need, quick on shipping, price is decent and they use Starrett stock. I don’t think you would have a problem running the 59 1/2” , just have to try it.

you can take a sting and wrap it around your wheels with the blade off. Move it to the shortest spot and measure it. Most bandsaws have a quit a bit of travel, so you have a bit of flexibility. I think 60” is mid way, but don’t hold me to that. A 59 1/2 should work.
