This question is more just curiosity than anything else.

I’ve got a few Bosch brand router bits. Some 1/4 inch shank, some 1/2 inch shank. What I’ve noticed is that the paint/coating on the bits seems to star flaking off after I first use them.

I haven’t seen this happen on my MLCS bits or my Harbor Freight router bits. Just the Bosch ones. It’s not a big deal as it doesn’t seem to affect cutting performance. But it does lead to a bit of rust on the non-carbide portion of the bits. Other than this I haven’t had any issues with the Bosch bits.

Has anyone else seen this?
