I have made a gumball machine based on the picture below. For those of you who have made this version or one that is similar, did you glue the pieces together or use screws so it can be taken apart for cleaning or some other method to keep everything together? Your replies are appreciated!

I hate to see posts go with no replies, but I’m afraid few have made the gum ball machine, as is the case with me. Can you make it so all the pieces are glued together, but make it so the dowel can be pulled out from above. That way you could take that wheel out and clean it should a gum ball break up in there.

I haven’t made this machine but I made my M&M machine where it could be taken apart easily. And it has been taken apart several times when an odd shaped M&M got smashed.

I have made some, but not that exact one. If you want to be able to take it apart, I’d glue up the top three and bottom three pieces as two units. Then screw the two assemblies together from the bottom.

I think the one you have posted is more complicated than the one I made. Of course I had no idea what I was doing as usual and just winged it. The lid on mine is secured and the glass globe can be unscrewed if needed….................
