I am not sure if it is the planer or if my blades have slipped somehow, but my dewalt planer suddenly appears to planing a little deeper on the right side then the left side. I am going to pull the blades and check them later this week and possibly replace them, but is there anything else I should check to find out why it is planing uneven.

Thanks in advance,
Paul

I have this planer. It should have two magnetic depth gauges next to the wrench that you can use to check the knife alignment. A spring pushes each knife forward, so maybe there could be something wrong with the spring?

I checked the gauge and it looked like the blades were not aligned straight. And since there was a notch in one of the blades, I decided to replace them. Got them installed and snugged down nice and tight and even. It is like I have a brand new planer.

Glad to hear it! I just had my knives resharpened so I was installing them back in the planer less than a week ago.
