Topic tags/keywords: question

I do not understand why there is a thread with this many replies. Makes it difficult to navigate and a thread with this much to read is not inviting to new folks, like me, to contribute to. I am sure regulars to this tread think it is OK but it is hard to think it invites new contributers. Puts me off!

think of it like this Jim. When you met a person they’ve had previous conversations that didn’t involve you. That doesn’t bother you right? You just pick up were you stepped in.

I’m hearing you Jim. Those topics don’t bother me, although I don’t have time to read them. I just don’t click on the link. I do get a kick out of the numbers.
If there is something about a plane or a chisel, or Northwoods wood working, I’ll just ask the question in my own thread.

So, you want the thread stopped? You want to make it go away because you haven’t been a part of it but all of a sudden you want to be? With that many posts, it must have been around a while. Why are you just now wanting to complain? This is just too weird….

I’ve seen short threads where it’s obvious new contributors didn’t read the ten previous replies.

Make a post on it so you’re at the bottom, then follow along. It’s that simple.

Just jump in with two feet, no need to test the waters. Those guys don’t seem like the discrimination types.

I get where your coming from. Posts like that almsot should be their own website or something. But like some of the others here I just don’t read those forums.

I can’t tell you how many people ask questions of the OP when the answers lie in the original posting or have been answered already by others, but nobody reads or comprehends what the previous commenters have already stated. If you’re afraid of asking the same question, don’t be. It happens daily here. Enter your comment(s) and go on from there. Ezy-Pzy

The “44,000+” thread is a conversation amongst many a people. The “regulars” have become great friends, that openly share their stories of success and heartache, jokes and insults are traded, advice & condolences are given, even woodworking is discussed on a regular occasion.

That thread started after the original “Coffee Lounge” was closed and the new one reconstructed. Combine the lack of a “Chat Room” on LJs or a multi-person “private message” capability and a 44,000+ thread is whatz ya gonna getz.

All are welcome and invited to share and partake. Don W and ShaneA got it right! Stop in, say hello. You only need to stay as long (or short) as you’d like!!! Yeah sure, there will be a part of the conversation you won’t get, that is until you hang out long enough!!!

Looking at your projects, Jim, you would fit right in…
Bellows for a blacksmith….
We’ve got horse traders and horse doctors….
Many a “Nubber” wouldn’t call the cops either….

Right on the nose, Randy and Todd.
As someone said “Join us, we’re having a blast. No nonsense, just sweet, sweet entertainment for woodworkers! Ok, and a little bit of nonsense…”
We do have fun.

Someone suggested here that this long thread be stopped….NOT ME. I said that it is hard to navigate. I do not remember how to get to the last few posts so I could join in without going through all 44444 posts. I am sure there is a way but it is not obvious to me how to do that. I do not see the “view last post ” button on my screen. This is why I posted this in the coffee lounge forum.
