Does anybody have these bandsaws? If so, I need help spending my money. I am trying to decide on either the base g0513 or the x2. I have read and reread the specifications on each several times, but just can’t decide which one. I am thinking that the g0513 fence would need to be upgraded, but maybe not the x2 since it is supposed to be cast iron?? I also like the idea of a larger table on the x2 amongst a few other things. If everything I have read about using live.com search for ebay items, microsoft’s 25%($200 max) cashback reward, and my 10% off coupon from ebay, I think the total cost for the g0513 will be about $585 and the x2 around $755. Sounds to good to be true, but I am pretty sure that this is correct. I know the upgrades are worth the $170 difference(maybe I just answered my own dilema), but I just can’t decide if I really need all them as I am just begininng. If I went with the cheaper one, I would use the difference for other shop items. Just looking for any advice to help me decide so I can get one in my shop. thanks.

I have the x2. It is a good machine. Seems to stand firm, easy to change blades, has a tensioner gauge, etc. I bought it for the resaw capabilities and it cuts nice and straight. The blade guides are great compared to older models. The only thing I don’t like about it so far is the way you have to tilt the table. It’s like it’s spring activated or something so you have to turn a crank. But if you set your angle and then go to lock it it goes back. So you have to hold the adjuster knob with one hand then tighten it with the other. It’s difficult in my opinion. Other then that set up was easy, it’s very quiet and balanced, etc. For the price, you can’t go wrong. BTW, the fence is cast iron but the resaw fence is not. The resaw fence slides onto the regular fence on a track and is locked on with a handle lock and I think is aluminum.

I think you are paying for cast – iron wheels and trunnion. The cast iron will hold up better under heavy use.

Yep, have hade the 513 for almost a year now. I have had no problem with it. Still not sure if I like the erou guide system. The x2 was what I was going to get, but pennyies where tight at the time, so if you have the extra. Go for it.

I bought the 513X2. Bought that version because, as you say, it was clear to me that the upgrades were worth the difference in cost. I’ve had it about a month. I’m very happy with the saw. It’s all the bandsaw I’ll ever need.
