Anyone know of any good stanley tool dating sources? I know of more than a few bench plane dating studies on bench planes, but almost none on the other tools. Specifically woodworking tools. Even more specifically, I have two 80s and a 66 I’m trying to find out. But it’s interesting I can’t find any info on block planes or anything other than what’s on the blood and gore pages.

80’s did not change much. Type 1 has a patent date the rest do not. As for 66’s again early ones have patent dates with japanning and the really early ones have an extra tall brass screw for the fence.

You might be able to get a little information at the Blood and Gore site, but other than that…
