Topic tags/keywords: baby babies projects

Hey guys. I’m a little new to turning. I’m wanting to turn something special for a special lady who is about to deliver her first child. It obviously needs to be something safe for baby, but also something that can be handed down through the years. Any suggestions?

A bowl with a 2013 penny inserted. Maybe burn in the child’s name if you can do it with quality and style.

We have a 1yr old, and i am new to turning as well. When having a baby, theres lots of bottle washing that goes on at the sink, and i turned my wife a few small bowls to put on the window sill above the sink to put her rings in while mixing or warming or washing bottles. She loves them, uses them every day.

People turn baby rattles with captured rings, but that is still outta my league for sure. Hiwever, if you go to my projects page, youll see a rattle that wasnt made on the lathe, but you could do parts of it on there, or add different plys together to make one,

Cant go wrong if you do both. If you come up with something neat, id love to see it, and steal it!!!!!!!

She’s the first one in my family to have a kid. It doesn’t have to be a pacifier. I’m just asking for ideas in general. Looking for….something. not really sure what though. Rattle or something like it. I don’t have any ideas. that’s why i’m asking.
