Topic tags/keywords: sander question

I’ve looked at the reviews and cannot find anything current on the Grizzly G0716 sander. Evidently there were issues early on, but if it’s a good unit it would fit my requirements. I’m mainly doing smaller items (boxes) do not foresee a need for large capacity (more than 8” width or 36” length – at most). Nor will it be high use tool for me.

Any feedback on this one would be greatly appreciated – thanks for your time!

Thanks Eddy – I really have appreciated your input in the past, but I think that the Jet is just more than I’ll ever need & if I can find something more cost effective, I want to do so.

here is another idea.
have you thought of making your own?
i made one (posted it here as a project) it served me well for a long time till bought the one i have now.
i thought at first the 16?32 was a much larger unit than i needed but after using my home made one i found out different . just throughing ideas out there

Eddy – to be honest I’d rather spend money when I have it on the equipment & jigs versus try to make them. Knowledge & capability is limited & I’d rather be making the things I like.
Your posting came in just a few hours after I ordered the G0716 from Grizzly!
One nice thing it takes lengths as short as 4 3/4” which is great for me.
Again, thanks for your time & input.
