When applying a “sole” to a wooden hand plane, what is the procedure for making the mouth?

If you are applying the sole to a body with an already established opening, drills, chisels and floats. If you are building a Krenov-style plane, it is easier to laminate the sole to the body prior to cutting the cheeks off.

+1. Just be careful coming through the bottom on a re-sole. Its easy to chip it out.
