Just picked this up at the local flea market. From what I have read, there were two different “types” made during the same time period- a “type 1” and another with no type designation.

Can someone tell me how to determine which I have? Any other information on this plane would be greatly appreciated.

Type 1 has a horse shoe shaped lateral.

Buy the looks of the one pictures, its in fine shape. Like deycart said, a Type one had the horseshoe laterial and dated from 1891-1901. The later model was 1902-1918.
