So for some reason my wife and I we’re in the mood for antique shops this weekend. Went to a few places, not much going on, did find a #4 for $85. As i was telling my wife how high the price was i almost dropped it as apparently it was missing the bolt for the handle. DOH!

Anyways first up is a #6. Good shape, i think it will clean up nicely. Not sure exactly why i bought it, seemed like an ok price. $35. Can’t hurt to have a back up.

Next up is a cool stanley #3. Great shape i’d say. No cracked/broken handles/knobs. Good jappaning. Still has some of the original tote decal. Pretty neat. Sweetheart blade.

Next is the Bedrock 603. Great shape as well, good knob and tote, jappaning is okay. This also has a sweetheart blade.

Both #3’s have holes drilled in front of the knob for hanging. Can’t see why someone would do that, but thats why i got a “deal” on them, not sure how i made out. But the guy gave me both for $100. I see #3 bedrocks going for over $150 on ebay so who knows.

Anyone can tell me some info that’d be good.

This was a vendor that displays at the washington couty fair grounds. His name is Ron from eagle bridge, really nice guy. Almost picked up a #12 but he said it was pretty shot.

It wasn’t actually a shop, It was a flea market down on route 67 in eagle bridge. i don’t think he has one. I imagine there was a lot more there but i went kind of late as everyone was closing. BUT there is one supposedly opening soon. Take the right onto route 67 from 22. Eagle bridge antiques, i guess hes going to see about renting part of it. He said he has a bunch more tools i guess.

Passed strawberry acres? I’d like to find some more places to check out. Isn’t there a frequent one in vermont?

I think you got a great deal, especially once you clean them up.

85.00 for a #4 sounds high, even in mint condition, The #4 1/2s can get that much, but they’d be really nice.

Collectors make such a big deal about the little hanging holes but, if it’s a user, who cares? As a collector….it’s worth maybe 10 bucks less….again, who cares?

If you figure 25.00 for the #3 with a decal and 75.00 for the SW bedrock, I’d say you did very well. no E bay shipping either. I’d a bought them…. as long as there not cracked.

They’re in REALLY great shape, i was surprised! He originally wanted $120 for JUST the bedrock. He offered both for $100 and i bit. I told my wife i needed $100 and she says “WHY??” Lol.

I wanted the #4 but not for $85. I paid like $35 for one from Don restored. Heh, just cause its old means its valuable right?

The wholes make no difference to me personally, It’ll work just fine for my needs.

Have your say...
