Topic tags/keywords: clamps glue up resource clamp joining

We know folks like planes, saws, chevolet’s and for sure craigslist. I like a good glue up. There is plenty of info about the how and why… now how ‘bout some pics. Post your glue up pics here. Small, large, simple, complex…. Don’t be shy.. share.

Post your work IN CLAMPS and a short description of the process, and tools.

Here is one I am particularly proud of to get it started. Stats: 14’ long, 6 1/2” wide, made up of 1/4”X 13/16 poplar strips, c clamps, HF clamps, bessy’s, jets, specialty clamp brackets, extend pva glue, glue rollers, and 4 guys.

Geez Joey! What kind of working time do you have with that ”extend PVA glue”?

And it looks like you had a couple clamps left over at the bottom! :-)

I am just shooting from the hip here is that a cap on a curved stringer???
I have done that once, it sucked. It was amazing when it was said and done, but very much a PTIA. Mine was 4 curved stringer, after it dried then we cut them for the notches for the treads and risers. It was an amazing project, but I hope not to see another one for at least ten years. awesome job by the way.

Shawn it is the top and bottom cap on a floating stringer, on a 2 story cylindrical stair. We have to do this 8 more times, in several locations to complete this one. It is very involved, but rewarding. I have a few more of these on the books this year. This one is very tight, and a first for me. I have done several elliptical and other curves, but never a cylinder this tall.

Now I had a bit of an inspiration to start this thread here. I know this is a bit of a gloat, but I really do want to start a thread on pics of glue ups. small or large… Post em.
