I unclamped the boards and ran them through the planer, (a total rework of the shop was necessary to do this). Then I put a camphor on the edge, mainly because I lack a good roundover bit, which I’ll remedy later, plus I need a plunge bit to do a plunge cut on the perimeter.

I’m boiling water now to melt some bees wax, to which I will add mineral oil, then I will finish it with a hot finish for better penetration.

I’ll update with pictures.

What woods do you have here, walnut and hard maple??
