Topic tags/keywords: walnut hardwood available carving materials arts and crafts kansas city area

Hi. I live in kc metro area. I have a mature walnut tree that had an erosion problem at the roots and just fell over. As a homesteader, I really wanted to save the tree, but it appears that isn’t possible. As an artist, with a lot of artistic friends, we see various beautiful things that can be done with the wood from this tree. I personally claim the roots to turn upside down to mosaic the base and make it into a medusa sculpture for garden art. My friends and I are chain saw owning and experienced but I think of you tru woodworkers. Anyone interested in this wood for large carvings or other things before we start cutting her up? I don’t want to butcher your art project. It’s really beautiful wood. Contact me quickly if you’re interested.
