Topic tags/keywords: humidor cigar box hardware mortise lock question

JOCKS!! Here’s the low down. Been using this site for a few years now unofficially, and just recently became a member. Had some bad experience in the past at another website. For the sake of the argument, Ill just call it “crawlmillstreak”. If tools were food, and their users had to pick between hamburgers and hot dogs, I was always quickly informed those are stupid caviar is the best. I digress…

I have recently concluded my dovetails are now where i want them to be. So instead of practicing on pine, which I can see myself rarely cutting fine dovetails in, i am using some hardwood cutoffs i have saved. So they are not going to waste, I am making humidors for my father, father-in-law, and grandfather. I am getting most of my hardware from Brusso.com. I want to use a nice mortise lock. i have found a couple that either look cheap, or are for jewelry boxes and aren’t very masculine. I have seen a TON of boxes and was wondering where to look for quality hardware?

Sorry it took me so long to get to the point. Thanks

Thanks Lew! I had seen a few of those sites already, but having not ever used them I was a little hesitant to pull the trigger. Thanks again!
