From past experience in forums, they usually like you to introduce yourself in the off topic forum before spouting off advice and questions.
Well, this seems to be the closest you have to an “off-topic” forum? Or is that not really a custom here?

Anyways, I’m pretty novice at woodworking, and I’m here mostly to lurk and learn. I have too many hobbies, so I never spend enough time in any to really have all the tools and enought experience. I get an idea in my head, and build it, then likely never do it again no matter how much I want too. I’ve done a few pens on the lathe, some knife handles, etc. I spend more time in my leatherwork, but I really would like to do more woodwork, but tools are sooo expernsive! I think my next realistic project will be a box of some sort. I have a goal to make a set of dominoes for my grandfather for christmas, but we’ll see how that goes, if at all…

Anyway, I hope it’s not weird that I’m doing an introduction on a forum that doesn’t seem to do much of that. Oh well, hi anyways!

Hi stingray, welcome to LJ’s. You might like to try out a new item here. There are free classes in several different fields, and the gateway is on the tab marked, you got it, classes, in the row at the top. Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for the tip about the classes! That’s awesome, and sure to keep me busy for awhile!

Have your say...
