I spray it in the old fashioned siphon gun. Why wouldn't it work. I don't have and have never used a hvlp gun so I would have to try it myself but I would get me some cardboard or some scrap sheet rock and give it a go.
I'm not sure, but I'll tell you this weekend. I'm going to spray a bench with my Earlex 5500 and minwax. I may thin it depending how fast it goes thru the viscosity cup. Going to use the 1.5 tip. It should be the perfect product for the hvlp with the right viscosity and tip.
I've sprayed Minwax oil based polyurethane, both high-build and fast-drying for floors as well as the Minwax Helmsman spar urethane all out of a gravity feed HVLP gun with no problems.
