Topic tags/keywords: incra range positioner router question

As in a homemade wooden fence? Sorry for this dumb question but I’ve been poking around for an answer and haven’t found one. Getting the entire system is fine, but if the accuracy works equally well without the fancy Incra fence I’d like to cut the cost in about half. Maybe get the fence later.

I have 2 Incra positioners with super fences (one on the router one on the TS). I don’t see why a home made fence would not work. Go for it.

I’m drooling over the precision, but I don’t need the fence unless the precision part doesn’t work properly without it.

Like howie, I have an older model Twin Linear Incra fence on a router table, and a TSIII table saw fence system with a wonder fence. Great accuracy from both that has made me a better woodworker. But repeatability is the biggest advantage for me. Incra tools are top dawg IMHO. Try a homemade fence. If you are not satisfied with it, you can always pop for the Incra OEM fence. As ole George Zimmer said (paraphased) “you’ll like the way it works…I guarantee it!”
