What does anyone know about the craftsman variable speed lathe model # 351217120
spindle length 36” inbowl dim 12” out15” 1 HP? Does anyone know a good price for this?

I’ve owned a used model 351217170 since April. Nearly the same – 38” length, 15” swing. Most common question I’ve seen posted (assuming you buy it) is about the speed control. You have to set it to zero before turning on the power. Several people have gone into repair mode thinking the pot is bad. Likely it wasn’t; the spindle won’t turn unless you start from zero every time. No idea what is a good price – it’s not a particularly great lathe – depending on condition, maybe worth $200-300. Certainly not more than that.
