So… My birthday is this coming Thursday. While working on the shoji frame today my miter saw decided to throw another fit today. So my dear sweet mother bought me a new miter saw today. I LOVE IT!!! I could have gotten something bigger but I’m completely happy with this. I got the Kobalt 10” Sliding Compound Miter Saw.

I like that it can cut a 12” board. It bevels. It has some other nice features too. Like an extending fence that has a stop on it. It was nice for repeating the cuts on the boards I did today.
There is a laser on it but its WAY off. And about the only other thing I don’t like about it is that the dust bag on it is worthless and then it only bevels one direction. But… Those things are ok.

Loving it!

Now I need to build a miter station :)

I am thinking that dang android eyeball app (image rotation) has something to do with it. Just guessing…

OH yeah, nice MS too!

Happy Birthday Angie,

Nice birthday present, youll be able to do a lot of compound miter cuts with it, to make fancy picture frames and beveled boxes.

Keep up the great work.

You must have been jumping up and down doing the happy dance on the first picture. Sliding compound is good.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I know you had a miter saw before but if you havenʻt seen the following safety video, I would encourage you to take a moment and watch this.

Short tip.

You might want to buy the complete video. It has many good safety tips for many tools.

Be Safe.

Happy birthday, I have the 7 1/2 inch version of that saw, it looks exactly the same. I cut a lot of smaller stuff. Have been very happy with it.
