I started thinking about lunches past. As I was putting some potato chips on my plate I remembered times long, long ago when I was young and poor and how my partner and I shared a bag of chips at lunch each day. He would never eat a chip that had a dark brown (burnt) spot on it. This was ok with me since that gave me a couple more at the end of the bag.

Then I started thinking about the different and sometimes weird things we do with our food. With my sister it was if any one type of food on her plate touched another type of food on her plate they both became inedible. Trust me when I say there were many arguments between my mom and sister over this.

I love dill pickle slices and have some with any sandwich I make. One of my weirdnesses is that I have to pat dry each slice of pickle with a paper towel before placing them on the plate. I don’t want pickle juice making my sandwich or chips soggy. Weird, huh?

Do you guys have any weirdnesses that you would care to share with the rest of us. Don’t be shy…Oh, and please remember I’m talking about food weirdnesses…not sex weirdnesses even though some types of food compliment sex nicely. At least that’s what I heard from some deviants down the street. I think they have sites dedicated to such things. Who woulda thunk our society could come to this…

I used to go fishing with some guys, and they would always sponge off the lunches I packed. Then I started bringing two of my favorite sandwiches—Liverwurst and avocado on rye, and sardines and cheddar on wheat.
For some reason they started bringing their own food after that…

About your sisters fear of food touching…

We have a friend who is STILL crazy about this (he’s 56, so not like he’s just a kid ) Anyhooo, we found one of those elementary school trays at a yard sale one day. It’s about 12” X 18” and has 6 or 7 small partitioned off sections for the food to be separated. We had his name engraved on it ,thinking it would be a good joke to give him. Well, he LOVES it. His wife says he wants to be served every meal on it!

Maybe you could find one of these for your sister. She might just appreciate it :-)

To liven this thread up a bit I take all restrictions off. Any weirdness can be talked about.

There’s 3 foods my wife won’t even touch, or get close to at lunch…...livercheese, pig knuckles, and sow’s ears…yummy…..But she really runs when I want brains and eggs for breakfast…...!!!!!!!!!!!!
