I remember seeing a video where a guy needed a dowel smaller than the dowel stock he had on hand. He took the dowel and ran it between his tablesaw blade and the fence. No jig, no setup, nothing but the blade and fence. At first everyone thought it was very unsafe but when thinking about it only the front of the blade made contact with the dowel. The reduced dowel just ran past the back of the blade with no kickback worries. I’m sure I saw the video on Lumberjocks but can’t find it. Am I crazy or does someone else remember the post?
