And they deserve a shout out.

I decided to splurge and gave each and every one of my @#$%^& Phillips screws (all neatly organized) to my sons.

I also ordered the sample assortment of over a 1000 square-drive screws from McFeely’s.

I received them, did a few projects and then reordered additional assortments in 6 and 8 and 10 that I knew I would need more of.

Then a month later I ordered their color coded driver bits. (Hell, why not. I am an old man and can indulge myself if I want).

I had not needed to open the second shipment of additional screws for a month.

I left them on my workbench …......all those screws with three of those yellow and black Harbor Freight 10 bin storage boxes ….......and my sweet wife (who had written out the ID stickers like we did the first time) decided be of help and cut the labels off the boxes and put them in the bins with the screws, dumped the screws where they were supposed to go and threw away the boxes.

Turned out all the second shipment were Phillips head……….and she certainly would not know that was not what I wanted.

I contacted McFeely’s and said “this was no biggie, easily solved……..if mistake on my end, let’s fix it, if mistake on your end, let’s fix it”.

Long story short…………McFeely’s replaced the entire Phillips shipment immediately and at no charge.

Even when I said (this was all email) that I felt I should at least pay something and send the Phillips back in bags (they were still sorted, just no boxes) they thanked me for making the offer……but………NO CHARGE.

And this was not a small order, at least for me.

2 complete assortments of #6 lengths

1 complete order of #8 lengths

And I compete order of #10 lengths

Not only are their products great

And obviously their customer service is great

But, I know enough about building organizations……………….. and how hard it is to develop a universal corporate attitude toward any goal………….to know that McFeely’s is a great company with great top level people insisting and monitoring and teaching and expecting this type/kind of service by great and capable employees.

Thanks McFeely’s.

I agree 100%..Great company and excellent service. Well deserved… I have purchased fasteners from them that are difficult to find elsewhere and they are quality all around. I use their tiny square drive screws for my box hinges and never worry about stripping the heads.

Good story about McFeely’s, Bruce…..I’ve delt with them a couple of times, and ordered a few things, and they have always been square with me…..I really like their square-drive screws, and like you, I discarded all my Phillips head screws…..After using the ones from McFeely’s, why would you want to use anything else…..?
They have good customer service, and ship to you fast…...When it’s time to re-order, I’ll be giving them a call.

Love McFeelys, they have become my go to company for all my screw purchases. They must have a warehouse very close to me as I can place an order late in the afternoon and it will arrive usually by 10:00 AM the next morning. Actually, every order I’ve made lately has arrived at my house before I get the email notice that it has shipped, can’t beat that!

Good to hear. I had the opposite with Celebrity Cruise Lines. Had a cruise booked on the ship that broke down. They didn’t do much and pretty much told me to take a hike. I booked a cruise and air package with them. They refunded the cruise cost but not the air cost. Offered me a 25% discount off of a full fare price on a future cruise…... I canceled the one I had in Feb. too at that point.

Another happy customer made from McFeelys. I ordered 500 fine and 500 coarse kreg screws, and 2 boxes of square drive screws. Well when I get my order, the square drive screws were correct, and so were the coarse kreg screws, but the fine were not. They ended up being the Hi-Lo kreg screws. I called them and within 15 minutes they told me the fine thread would be on the way, and to keep the Hi_Lo screws, at no extra charge.

Now what am I going to do with 500 Hi-Lo screw that I never knew existed. So I called kreg and asked what they are used for. They told me they are for the “hard’ softwoods or the “softer” hardwoods. So now I have another weapon in my arsenal of screws so to speak.

Great Customer service McFeelys.

I am also an happy Mc Feely’s customer even if they are a part of Grainger and I do not like Grainger.
I brought the same assortment of screws and the same bins, in fact I suspect that Bruce stole my idea.

Count me in as another happy customer. I’ve ordered at least 2 multi-packs of screws, and have been very happy each time.
