What’s your best recommendation for a book that clearly differentiates furniture styles and their nuances?

I’m looking to make a desk. Some light feeling almost like a sofa table but deeper.

I could picture it and was trying to classify it. I Started with “french” but then went to Louis XVI, then Shearton, the started reading about Neoclassicism, then over to Biedermeier. Then I started looking at image searches for the styles.

Louis XVI vs Sheraton, French vs Beidermier??? it’s mind numbing.

I’d love to have a “dummies” book for furniture classification!

I think what you’re picturing could be classified as the Savan style.

I’d go with that one.

Have your say...
