Hi Folks

I’ve just joined, so (digitally speaking) “Nice to meet you all”.

I live in a small village near London, England. I was wondering if there were any other Brits as members and if so, is there some way of isolating a specific geography (sort of all those within 50 miles of me kind of thing)?

I hope this is in the right place, I’m still learning my way round the site. First impressions are great, lots of fabulous resources and talented people.

Yewtube….because one of my favourite woods to turn is Yew. The actual name’s Rob.

Thankyou Waho609, most kind. I must also say thanks to Stefang who introduced me to this fabulous wood paradise.

When my chores list gets to less than 3 pages, I’ll actually get round to posting some projects as I’m sure you all need a good laugh :-)

So glad you have become one of us Rob. Nobody will laugh at your work. We are all at different skill levels here, but we still enjoy each others work regardless. It’s wonderful to see members progress, and that usually happens pretty darn fast with all the help, encouragement and inspiration they get on LJ.

Rob, welcome, you will like it here.

There are quite a few Brits who are members from all over the UK and some ex-pats too, quite a few Aussies to and Canadians, Europeans, even Russians. This is a true international site.
Take a look at the top of the page and click the ONLINE button, and it wil show you who is online then, and if the LJ has listed his nationality or country, you will be able to find locations.

I’m a Brit too, but have lived in Texas since 1977.

Hello. As a relative newbie I think I can say this is a pretty good site. Every large organization has its share of jerks but the nice helpful folks out number them by a lot.
