Yeh, I just [almost] finished the “resto-mod” on my pappy’s Craftsman 103.22171 tilt-arbor saw.[1972????] . I recently posted a rundown and some photos, but the reason for this post is to ask anyone if they have any cool ideas for down-locks for the foot-operated retractable wheelz. The geometry is perfect for transporting “forward” but when backing up they tend to retract at the most inconvient times. Any

suggestions?

They are just your basic garden variety height adjustable lawn mower wheels and axles, Join10asee, connected together with a piece of closet rod.

Ok then… How ‘bout some sort of “flip down lever” when the wheels are set lowest, to keep them from popping back up.
