Why did you select the Nova 1624-44? I just acquired a 1940’s vintage lathe so am curious what features sold you on the Nova.

Actualy I have changed my choice for a lathe based on the recommendations of members from my local turner group ythat have years of experience. I am going to wait until JET has a sale, probably Black Friday. Their model 1221vs seems to offer the best value with current technology (true variable speed not the older Reeves system), known quality, good customer service and 5 year warranty.

I hope this answers your questions. Good luck on your turning.

I just sold a Dunlap vintage lathe before I used it because lack of parts. features, and only a 9” swing.
